ISTANBUL, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) on Tuesday announced that it extended the suspension of all its international flights until May 20 over COVID-19 concerns.
"Under the decisions taken by the authorities of Turkey and to protect the public health from the novel coronavirus pandemic, all our international flights are suspended until May 20," the THY said in an announcement posted on its website.
The carrier's domestic flights were halted earlier from April 3 until April 20, but cargo services are continuing as normal without any interruption.
Turkey has so far recorded a total of 61,049 confirmed cases and 1,296 deaths, according to the data released by the Health Ministry on Monday.
