TEHRAN, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Iran is ready to meet the demands of Lebanon in different areas, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said, the Tasnim news agency reported on Thursday.
The Islamic republic calls for expansion of relations with Lebanon and is ready to supply what Lebanon needs in various fields, Amir Abdollahian said during a meeting with Abdullah Safioddin, representative of the Lebanese Hezbollah in Iran on Wednesday.
He congratulated Lebanon on the formation of a new government and expressed the hope that problems of the Lebanese people would be resolved as soon as possible.
The government of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi supports the resistance of the Lebanese people against Israel and Takfiri groups, he stressed.
Safioddin, for his part, thanked Iran for sending fuel to Lebanon.
Earlier, Hezbollah Leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah announced the arrival of the first vessel shipping of Iranian fuel to Lebanon.
Iran has said that it was ready to ship more fuel to Lebanon if needed. Enditem
