BEIRUT, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon approved on Thursday the new cabinet's policy program aimed at dealing with the worst financial and economic crisis in the country, the National News Agency reported.
The new policy program aims at implementing the much needed reforms to reach a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in addition to conducting negotiations with the state's lenders to restructure the country's public debt.
It also aims at increasing salaries of employees in public sector.
It added that it is keen to continue investigations into the Beirut port blasts and conduct parliamentary elections in 2022.
Lebanon formed a cabinet last week which is expected to start reforms to halt the collapse in the country. Enditem
