The mudslide, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, trapped 62 people. As of 5 p.m., a total of 50 people had been found, with two deaths, according to the emergency management bureau in the city of Ya'an, which administers Tianquan County.
More than 700 people and over 70 vehicles have been sent to participate in rescue efforts, according to the bureau.
