JERUSALEM, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Israeli defense electronics company Elbit Systems announced on Tuesday that it signed a 100-million-U.S.-dollar contract to provide electronic warfare (EW) systems to Britain's Royal Navy.
The contract will be performed over a period of 13 years and will include in-service support, the statement noted.
Under the program, Elbit will design, manufacture and deliver maritime EW suites comprised of fully digital radar electronic support measures (RESM) and EW command and control systems.
"These latest generation technologies will enhance the situational awareness and anti-ship missile defense of front-line platforms, and improve their capability to exploit the electromagnetic environment," Elbit said.
On Monday, Elbit announced it had signed a 88-million-dollar deal to provide and operate training aircraft for Britain's Royal Air Force. Enditem
