ISTANBUL, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police launched a massive operation against illegal wine production in Turkey's northwestern Tekirdag province and seized 76.8 tons of bootleg wine, local media reported on Thursday.
According to Ihlas news agency, police units conducted a raid at a workplace in the Sarkoy district where they found numerous barrels filled with wine ready for sale.
The authorities later determined that the wine was produced at a nearby vinegar factory illegally, Ihlas noted.
A widescale investigation was reportedly launched against three suspects for producing illicit wine while the factory has been sealed. Enditem
