MADRID, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- An airliner flying on a scheduled flight between Bilbao and the northwestern city of A Coruna was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday morning after receiving a warning that there was a bomb on board, the Government Delegation from the Autonomous Community of Galicia has informed.

It was later confirmed that the bomb threat was a false alarm.

The Airbus 319 operated by the company 'Volotea' landed at A Coruna airport at 07:25 local time (0625 GMT).

"Volotea informs that the flight V7 3538 that covers the BIO-LCG route has made an emergency landing at 7:25 a.m. local time at A Coruna airport (LCG) due to the threat of a bomb on board," Volotea tweeted.

It said, "105 passengers and 6 crew members were on the plane, and they disembarked normally following emergency protocols."

The plane was held away from the runway to allow investigations to be carried out. The airport has been in normal operation despite a large police presence. Enditem
