LONDON, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.16 percent, or 11.23 points, to close at 7,266.69 points.
Compass Group, a British multinational contract foodservice company, soared 5.64 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. CRH and BHP Group increased by 3.45 percent and 3.00 percent, respectively.
Halma, a group of technology companies that makes products for hazard detection and life protection, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.71 percent.
