BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.24 percent, at 3,584.18 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.4 percent lower at 14,827.95 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.1 trillion yuan (about 171.9 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.2 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to medical equipment led the gains, while those related to the coal sector led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.12 percent to close at 3,474.45 points Thursday. Enditem
