SUZHOU, China, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Fans ended a four-month wait for games as the Chinese Super League (CSL) resumed on Sunday, seeing Lonsana Doumbouya score twice and Adrian Mierzejewski add a penalty to help Shanghai Shenhua smash Qingdao FC 3-0.
Teams were divided in two groups after the break, with the title winners and relegated teams to be decided next January.
Shenhua was fortunate when opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 32nd minute after Doumbouya was tripped by Qingdao keeper Zhao Shi.
Doumbouya continued his action-packed afternoon by pouncing to slot home from close range after Zhao Shi parried a low drive.
Ten minutes later, Doumbouya added a third Shenhua goal with a header, rounding off a commanding performance.
A chronic struggle to score goals has hampered Qingdao this season, and they look set to battle against relegation.
Facing Henan Songshan Longmen, the in-form Sam Larsson sealed Dalian Pro's 1-0 win in the 83rd minute with his deflected left-wing free-kick.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Wuhan FC won over Cangzhou Mighty Lions 4-2, and Tianjin Jinmen Tiger was held to a 1-1 draw with Chongqing Liangjiang Athletic.
Shenzhen FC will face Shanghai Port on Monday, while Beijing Guoan plays cash-strapped Guangzhou FC. Enditem
