MOSCOW, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Russia reported 27,743 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, the lowest since Oct. 8, taking its total caseload to 10,159,389, the official monitoring and response center said Friday.
Meanwhile, the national COVID-19 death toll increased by 1,080 to 295,104, while the number of recoveries grew by 37,437 to 8,914,225.
There are currently 950,060 active cases in Russia, and the mortality rate remains at about 2.9 percent, the center said. Enditem
