SHANGHAI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The balance of loans in Shanghai stood at 9.45 trillion yuan (about 1.49 trillion U.S. dollars) at the end of November, up 12.6 percent from the same period last year.
The balance of loans in Chinese yuan reached 8.68 trillion yuan at the end of November, up 12.2 percent year on year, 1 percentage point higher than the previous month in growth rate, according to the People's Bank of China Shanghai Head Office.
In November, new yuan loans stood at 108.2 billion yuan, 83.9 billion yuan more than the same period last year.
The balance of foreign currency loans hit 121.6 billion U.S. dollars at the end of November, up 21 percent year on year.
At the end of November, the balance of Shanghai's deposits stood at 17.14 trillion yuan, climbing 10.4 percent over one year earlier. Enditem
