BUENOS AIRES, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Former Porto and Lyon forward Lisandro Lopez has reached a deal to continue his career with Argentine top-flight club Sarmiento at the age of 38, according to widespread media reports in the South American country.
Lopez was expected to retire from professional football after playing his last game for Racing Club earlier this month.
But he is understood to have agreed to a one-year contract after meeting with Sarmiento officials on Sunday, the Buenos Aires-based Ole news outlet said.
It added that Lopez would be available for pre-season training with the club, which is scheduled to start on January 3.
Lopez, who won eight major titles during his spells at Porto and Lyon from 2005 to 2013, earned the last of his seven Argentina caps in 2009. Enditem
