BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.07 percent, at 3,593.60 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.01 percent lower at 14,569.18 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.158 trillion yuan (about 181.1 billion U.S. dollars), slightly down from 1.159 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to traditional Chinese medicine and real estate posted strong performance, while shares related to power generation and cloud games led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 2.96 percent to close at 3,332.61 points. Enditem
