CAIRO, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Egypt will host the 8th International Energy Forum (IEF)-International Gas Union (IGU) Ministerial Gas Forum in 2022 on reviving the world economy in light of COVID-19 repercussions and the hiking prices in natural gas markets in 2021, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The ministers will also evaluate the climate and the international energy issues that were discussed in the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference," the statement said.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek al-Molla said the IEF-IGU Ministerial Gas Forum is an important arena for promoting and strengthening a global dialogue between natural gas producing and consuming countries.

The IEF is the world's largest international organization of energy ministers from 71 countries that represent 90 percent of the world energy market and include both producing and consuming nations. Enditem
